Chicken pox parties are still as popular as ever, according to a report in the New York Observer today. So after the last post “Nautural Gout Treatment”, looked at treating one disease, it might be a good idea to stay looking at illnesses and have a brief look at what these loosely defined parties actually are and what they’re for.
Well, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the chicken pox parties that we’re talking about here are designed with one major aim. And that is to make sure that everyone who attends is exposed to the chicken pox virus, most importantly those being very young children. And with very good reason.
Parents are getting disillusioned with the medical profession’s constant ear-aching about immunizing kids from a variety of childhood diseases. What better way to ensure they get their natural defenses to learn what they have to fight off than exposing them to the disease from an early age, when they’re young enough for it not to be too traumatic and old enough to fight it off after a couple weeks.
In my day, we caught the usual collection of nasties like mumps, measles, chicken pox etc and we got over them and grew up tp be pretty tough and able to fight off most diseases in our adulthoods.
Nowadays, the medical profession has made leaps and bounds in the treatment of many old diseases and are at hand should any one of the kids exposed to chicken pox become severely ill. Let’s face it, whether they catch it naturally or get it delivered via a jab, they are still going to have to fight the disease, so it might as well be for real.

Hey, thanks for this great post on chicken pox parties. We took all of our kids top these great parties and successfully got them all inoculated the natural way by contact with other kids with chicken pox. Now they’ll grow up stronger and better equipped to deal with diseases with a tougher immune system.
